Amiga Repair / Recapping Australia?
« on: January 09, 2015, 08:09:24 AM »
Im after someone reliable and proven to repair some Amigas (all models).

Ideally they need to be in Australia due to the amount of work (postage costs internationally will be a killer)

I've tried Paul from Amisynth - but he no longer does it and a NZ bloke called Anthony is also not available (till Nov 15)

Can someone recommend a repairer that can do recapping and fault finding on amiga's.

Thanks

G'day,

What type of repairs? Symptoms?

There is a guy in US that does recapping with different grades of caps. I can send you a link when at work. He is very reasonable.

Hi

I have a mix of working and non working amiga's - all up probably 20 machines. They were stored without batteries, but at this age I'm guessing they will all need to be recapped. I would like each machine recapped, tested and any faults repaired.

Due to the number of machines, I can't see that sending them to the USA or UK would be cost effective.

Thanks, but the risk and cost of sending 20+ Amiga motherboards overseas isn't somthing I want to get into.

If they need repairs, then I'd wait until November for Anthony in NZ; but for just recaps, Mike at maccaps.com is fine; further he is quick and inexpensive.

Agreed, Anthony is worth the wait.
