« on: March 25, 2003, 04:29:07 PM »
hello all
does anybody know of any decent spreadsheet program on the amiga? i have tried turbocalc 5 in the past but are there any better ones which can match up to similar packages on the pc such as excel? are there also any spreadsheet programs still in development for the amiga?

This is one reason to get Open Office ported to the A1 or MOS. I think there is such a beastie involved. :-)

Right now, though, TurboCalc might still be supported, but other than that I don't know of any spreadsheet on the Amiga that is still supported much less keeping up with Excel.

At home, I have Final Calc, but I hardly ever use it.

agree with billsey - TurboCalc isnt bad.
I dont get much time to mess about with it either,
but Excel aint all its cracked up to be - loads of features one doesnt really need in a spreadsheet and its bloated and buggy too !

I feel that TC ( i have 3.?) has most of what one really wants in an amiga spreadsheet including an AREXX port - havent played with that yet, either !

did I mention Excel's bloat ? :-P

Well I use EasyCalc (from Aminet) to balance my checkbook. It's nowhere near as powerful as Excel, but it's small, stable and runs reasonably quick on my '060 A1200.

Im currently using TurboCalc3.5 (came with many A1200's) for keeping track on the ammount of spam i get, and for graphs :-). Its quite a good spreadsheet imo, does most ive ever wanted to do, and I did my AS level coursework on it.

Turbocalc 3.5 is pretty damn good. I wish v5 was much cheaper.

There is also Data2_M, but I never really tried that, and
don't even a download link at hand  :-o
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

I think the only thing Microsoft released for the Amiga was AmigaBASIC.

Holy crap!  Reviving a thread from 13 years ago to ask if Microsoft Excel was ever released for the Amiga!  And the poster's first post at that.
