delayed pop-up ads / amiga.org
« on: April 03, 2004, 06:05:10 PM »
Hi - I was curious whether anyone else is experiencing a delayed pop-up ad after closing their browser (well I am using internet explorer). this phenomenon was new to me, so I was not sure if I had accidentally installed some adware software... but I experimented a bit, and it seems like it starts occuring (consistently) after going to the amiga.org website. well, I do not mind if it is generating money for amiga.org, but I wanted to pin it down to make sure it is not something else.

FORGET IT - I just did some more testing. and I think it is not amiga.org, it must be something with my browser.

You need:

ADAWARE

Also:

SPYBOT

You'll be surprised how much junk they find and clear out.
