All great games, but I'm not sure about top 10. (Was never a fan of Syndicate)
-
Out of This World (Another World) was a GOOD game. :-D
-
It's a shame that it's sequal was ONLY released on Sega CD though.
-
what???
Syndicate is the best of them all..

About Syndicate...
Surely a remake is long overdue.
Maybe they're overlooking Syndicate Wars for Playstation. That sucked though :)
-
Defender of the crown, i love that game..
:-D

I miss Turrican 2 and James Pond, the pinnacles of lush platformers, and way better in terms of gameplay than the rather boring Shadow of the Beast. Populous also was a smash hit. Unfortunately, by that time Sega was wowing the public with the funky and faster-than-the-eye-can-follow scrolling of Sonic the Hedgehog, but its Amiga-counterpart Zool never caught on.
-
I was wondering "Why would Wired write about this", but then I noticed that it's written by Simon Carless, aka Hollywood/h0l. :-)
BTW: Wasn't Lemmings originally released for the ST?

As well as people bought PCs only to play doom and quake, back in the 80s people bought Amigas only to play shadow of the beast it was the game that made that a lot of people bought Amigas

No

Nope, born and bred on the Amiga... then ported to every other computer ever made :-)
-
bah, that list is missing Stunt Car Racer and The Settlers :-)

1.Hybris (one of the few games I ever finished...less technically competent than it's successor Battle Squadron but much more playable. I had 5 Atari-ST owning friends then and, after playing Hybris they sold their ST's and bought Amigas! Yay!).
2.James Pond
3.Nebulus
4.Interceptor
5.Chucky Egg!
6. Denaris (brilliant LOOK...but never got past level 2, too hard, I think the same team developed R-Type for Amiga)
7. Speedball II
8. Turrican II
9. Pinball Fantasies (the one with the clowns face on it)
10. Stunt Car Racer
Not forgetting....Super Hang-On, Space Harrier (did you see the Atari-ST versions? Oh my God! Another reason for junking the ST!) When I showed my mates Space Harrier they just held their heads in their hands. They were SO CONVINCED that the Ataris were better...I showed them otherwise...) Oh and SAVAGE (superb soundtrack)...Ghosts and Goblins (again, fantastic music). The list goes on...

Its impossible to create a top10.. but if Id have to change something in this particular list, I would replace Sensi Soccer with Kick off 2, Pinball dreams with Slamtilt and Worms with Worms DC.

Great thread! Great find on Wired! I'll never sell my A500! I have a great deal of fun on it using only floppies! It's out in my garage. My wife is always telling me "get in here and stop playing with that old computer!" A bunch of my friends love to come over, drink beer, and play Super Cars on it! When I first showed it to them a couple of years ago they were like "what the hell is that thing?" :-D

A games garage... that would be class!

Seems perhaps this Wired article created an eBay hopeful, or is this the going rate for this game?
Speedball 2 (http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-Commodore-Amiga-Speedball-2-Brutal-Deluxe_W0QQitemZ110057650974QQihZ001QQcategoryZ4315QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

Maybe I'll have to try again one of these days.
