Title: SetPatch and ROM2Fast
Post by: ninevoltz on July 03, 2014, 02:04:27 AM
Are these options exclusive to each other? If I try to run rom2fast before setpatch, my system hangs. I have a Cyberstorm MKII. I'm not sure how the mechanics of these two programs work. Also, I've tried the unofficial BoingBag 4, which causes my system to freeze. I commented out the first line in startup-sequence with KingCON in it, and that fixes it. Anyone have ideas?

There shouldn't be any need for ROM2Fast - the CPU command can put the ROM into fast RAM with the right command line argument.

I would recomend you to softkick your kickstart with blizkick and install all the rom patches/modules you want to use from there and to tell setpatch to not install any romupdates.
Blizkick has a quite large but very good manual so read it :)

disable the romupdates from setpatch by adding NOROMUPDATE to your setpatch line. IE
c:setpatch NOROMUPDATE quiet
