can you use your mobile phone android as a internet connection with usb tethering or would it not work cause amiga wont know what it is..(yeah still trying to put my 1200 online) i wish i could have a dial up just for it ..that worked ..

Probably doable, but not without a lot of trouble. It's a 1200, you say? Just get yourself a PCMCIA network card, easy-peasy! ;)

That's what I did for my non-towerised A1200. Some years back, work was throwing out some old PCMCIA network cards so I grabbed one to try out and it worked great. Just configured it for the LAN and let the ADSL router worry about the internet connection.

Would need to have adb (android debug bridge) compiled for AmigaOS
Then using adb + proxoid = internet connexion with your smartphone via usb
The stand alone source for adb is here (I mean the one without all the other Android os sources)
https://github.com/karfield/adb
If someone good enough with usb/network stuff can recompile it ....

Maybe a busted slot. You cleaned it and checked the pins?
How about a Plipbox?

There's probably better tools to show this type of info, but the Workbench tool 'PrepCard' should recognise the card. At least then you'll know your Amiga can actually see it.
