A4000T 060@50 gaming options?
« on: January 04, 2004, 09:39:31 AM »
 Any links for what works on a high end classic Amiga?
I am not into online gaming (yet).  I know most intuition friendly games work, but what about anything else?  There is not much, from what I have searched for.  I have CDrom and Gfx card and Cloanto roms.  Thank you for replies..

@AmiBoy
Isn't Earth2140 PPC-only ?

Yes I know there is an "partly-official" 68k-version, but that will require more
juice than any real (not emulated) 68k could give.
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

@Kronos

Hi Kronos
No Eath2140 is 68K and PPC compatible it is just that it will run ok on an 060 50MHz in 640x480.
800x600 is too slow for on 060 50MHz.
A faster non overclocked 060 say 66MHz (can be overclocked safely to 80MHz! and inc an FPU) or 75MHz (Sadly not inc FPU) will run it at 640x480 quite nicely and ok at 800x600.
Only problem is these are both unavailable to the A4000 im afraid.

@Lo

Another few 68K grfx card games would be Foundation Gold, Myst, Tales of Tamar which is a great Play by Email online Turn based Strategy, Freespace (Get this its great!) Crossfire 2 and even Quake 2!!

@Lo
I would check all amiga related sites for these games, check them out first before you jump on the wagon and buy them!!

For a moment there i thought you meant playing all the older Amiga games (87-97). Just for the record, most of them will need JST or WHD Load.
