What is missing?
« on: January 23, 2017, 06:57:21 PM »
So I have a A1200 board with no video and am gonna send it off, hopefully to be fixed. In an attempt to help diagnose the problem I noticed something. It would appear my board is missing something

directly to the right of the IDE connector there is a silver piece with the following numbers on it
4.443619
NDK2X

What is it?

I am wondering because it is missing on my board.

the first pic is a working board this pic is mine. You can see the spot where it should be.

Just my .02 cents, try posting a photo of your actual board instead of a stock photo?

That component has been discussed before, I don't recall exactly but try checking with user Acill on this forum?  He should remember.  :D

Edit - nevermind, I see you added a photo of your board.

It's an oscillator but I don't know it's particular function.  Searching for 4.433619 crystal should find a replacement.

It's the difference between a PAL and an NTSC configured motherboard. Yours is NTSC the other one is PAL.

4.43361875 MHz (±5 Hz) is the Colour Subcarrier frequency for PAL-B/D/G/H/I/N.
