Today I wanted to grab some .IFF clipart files from AmiNet, and there’s a lot of them, but I didn’t want to download them to the Amiga just to sort thru what I liked. I wanted a way to download and view them on my Mac to make the process a whole lot faster. I (finally!) came across this post on EAB. And the solution is even easier than I imagined using Mac’s QuickLook feature. NO software to install! Even better!
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=68449You can snag the QuickLook plugin from GitHub here.
https://github.com/dalton-tulou/ql-iffTo install:
For one user, copy iff.qlgenerator to ~/Library/QuickLook/
For all users, copy iff.qlgenerator to /Library/QuickLook/
Hope this is useful for anyone looking for a quick way to view .IFF image files on a Mac to use with popular Amiga word processors and the like. Great time saver!
I should mention, to use Quick Look on your Mac (I'm using Sierra) just right click the .IFF image and navigate down to Quick Look and release your right mouse button.
Some .IFF clipart on AmiNet.....

Also, if you want to unpack .LHA files on your Mac use The Unarchiver, it's great.
