Where are the Girls !

The problem is....this oh so accurate guesstimate is based on "my *InsertFemaleTitle*" and is just so funny!

Some of you should write it thus....

"My female likes.............." covers all basics.......I guess the after hours hair dragging to bed occurs in the same manner.

Lets be honest the topic the thread and the attempt at being PC was so wrong to begin with.....you all just tripped over yourselves, on the way to generalisation.

;) Have you pressed the "Try Harder" button ?

Umm,.... my response was:

"Much like guys, different woman like different games... why would anyone think it'd be different ? I have a few woman friends who are huuuge WoW fans, others who like fps games, while some others like more simple, casual games."

This is a generalisation how exactly ?
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

It's a simple question, what is ridiculous about it? The answers help me appeal to a wider audience when designing/writing a game. Plus it is embarrassing to see computer games dominated by males with girls just using a computer for facebook and photo storage.
I guess it's still the early days of computers, but I know that games programming is an all male affair. If they start liking more games perhaps they will start programming them too.

Actually I was doing a 3 year course at uni that was games development centric and it's definately not an all male affair. Granted guys outnumbered woman probably 4:1, but there's definately woman involved.  Heavenly Sword development for example was headed buy a woman (who's name I currently forget), as is it's sequel/offshoot which is in production right now.

-Super Frog
-Super Mario
-Frogger
-Super Breakout
-Carmen San Diego Series

...don't know how I forgot these. Especially Frogger. I have an ex-wife that loved Superfrog AND James Pond I and II for the Amiga, but can't say she really ever played 'em too much. Mostly just thought the characters were cute.  :)

Indeed, this seems like a category all on it's own...
It seems to involve everything from (esp.) Japanese RPG's (Square/Enix etc.), to puzzly games together with 'bubbleshooters' and the likes.
A number of Amiga-games my girlfriend, about my age, likes would be;
Bubble Heroes, Pick'n Pile, Clockwizer, Scrabble, Total Chaos 7, Paco-Mix,
Zangband, Deluxe Galaga (not Deluxe Pacman however, go figure), King's
Bounty, Sexy Droids, Dune, and then a load of card-games.
intuition inside!

The Great Giana Sisters was a favorite among two of my sisters (the third one wasn't intersted in games), but Winter Games on the C64 was really the favourite game for my youngest sister. She have later tried various winter sport games on the PS2, but she says it isn't the same because she liked the sheer simplicity of Winter Games with the joystick waggling and all.

My impression is that girls in the 80's & early 90's usually liked games that weren't too violent and not too complicated (meaning they were easy to get into), a high cuteness factor of the games often helped a lot as well. At this point in time I didn't know any girls who had their own computer or console, they usually borrewed them from their brother(s) instead, and I remember that even though my sisters wasn't allowed to, they used to sneak into my room when I wasn't there to play games on my C64 & Amiga.

But this was of course back then, nowadays my impression is that asking what games girls prefer is the same as asking what games guys prefer - the answers will vary a lot in both cases.

Hi,
Very curious to know which games the women or girls prefer. If you are not female put in whatever you heard them say they like. Give an explanation.

My cousin 4 years younger than me liked to play Bonecruncher and Super-Hang-On. She has a wii now.

I guess those two aren't manual intensive or involve any (vicious) killing.
Very simple answer:

1) A LOT of YOUR ca$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$h
2) A lot of free time
3) YOUR new car
I can guarantee you that EVERY woman will like to play this game!

My Mrs likes

01/ Amiga - Galaga, because the way it starts off slow builds up to a faster speed and the aliens have a set way of appearing on screen & to beat your own high score.

02/ Amiga - Superfrog, good music & graphics, entertaing and puzzle solving.

03/ Amiga /PC Lemming, cute charecters & more challenging the higher you go up the levels.

04/ PC - Centipede, longer you play it the faster it gets and the high score becomes more challenging.

05/ 1st Nintendo consul - duck shoot.

These games have been played from  the mid 80's to current date :):)

Farmville is a girl game.

I've never played it, but have been told you need to flash your vagina at the screen before the start button will work.

My sister's fave was Rodland first, Fury of the Furries second. She doesn't play games anymore.

Ex girlfriends have enjoyed these:

Znyk (shareware)
Megaball
Tomb Raider
Superfrog
Pacman

I am talking about games that they asked to play and genuinely enjoyed.

I claim bonus points for having a mutually-agreeable arrangement on one ocassion where the little lady HAD to finish a Tomb Raider level and I suggested that some special stimulation might help her win through.
I banged her while she played, she held the controller most of the level but let go in the end
