RE CD32 Hardware issue
« on: July 19, 2012, 06:56:49 PM »
Hi

Not sure if this is the right place to post this......but,

I have TWO Amiga CD32`s one has an issue with the Audio.  There is a loud crackling noise through the Audio channel.  I have a PC repaier working on this and it has been tied down to a motherboard/component fault.

The Other is dead, except when one half of the motherboard is warmed up and it bursts into life.  This lasts approx an hour or so then dies again.

Both these issues stem from motherboard/component issues and or dry joints.......somewhere !!!!

I bought the second CD32 to replace the first but has also developed a fault.

I have a massive collection of CD32 software and love my CD32, but don`t know what to do.

Wondered if anyone had the specialist equipment / knowlege to try to repair these ( or at least one of them )

Thanks

Calibra

Not sure if this is any help, but CD32 emulation is getting very good in WinUAE now!
