Just started using MorphOS
« on: December 05, 2013, 01:55:33 AM »
Hey everyone I just put MorphOS on my eMac a couple days ago, and I must say I am loving it. My only question is, is there any development going on towards getting Airport Extreme WiFi cards to work? Right now I have the Internet on it shared from a Windows PC to my eMac through Ethernet.

Welcome to the club!

Search morphzone.org for options,  that will be your best bet on options.

I have a cisco card in my PB, works perfect and was dirtcheap.  Sure there has to be something for the emac..

Good luck!

There are wifi solutions for these machines, so Airport has not been a priority.
If you PM me your Mac model, I'll summarize the wifi options for it.

Nice to hear, hope you have a lot of fun with it! :)

A way to quickly get started and instantly have a fully configured system with lots of applications etc, is by installing pack Chrysalis 3.3.1 (previously "Pack Ultimate") for MorphOS 3.3:

http://meta-morphos.fr/download/pack/chrysalis.iso (577 MB)

Also, if you happen to register your MorphOS copy in the future, please consider posting your invoice number and date of purchase in this thread!

:)
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

An inexpensive wireless bridge plugged into your ethernet port will give you wireless connectivity without having to wait for drivers.

I might consider buying one of those. I'm kinda doing that in a rudimentary form at the moment by connecting my eMac's LAN port to my PC's LAN port. Then I bridged the LAN and Wireless connections on the PC, thus making a connection to the eMac.

Get a TP link TL-WR702N nano router. Just plug in into ethernet and one usb port and there you go. It's easy to set up and works great with MorphOS - I use such a thing on my Powerbook. Should be obtainable for about 20US$.
