Kernel 4 update
« on: February 01, 2012, 11:54:02 AM »
Hi,

I have released the latest kernel 4 with newer hardware added. There is hw accelaration added for ati mobility radeon 9600/9700 (with partial hw  acceleration, fill_rect and copy_rect) as well as pcx5300, pcx5750 and  pcx5900. Pci-e cards are not tested yet but i expect full hardware  acceleration on these video cards. Feedback is required.

Place is as usual:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/amithlon/files/

There are 3 versions, just different in size. If you have ide drives and  no sata you can use kernel with ide controllers. There is a version with  both ide and sata controllers and a kernel with ide, sata and  additional third party scsi controllers.  Also linux side amithlon  drivers included for sound, ethernet and serial.

Enjoy!

Thanks for this. Unfortunately I gave away my pcx5300 about 4 or 5 months ago. Bit of a shame, would have been nice to free up a pci slot by using pci express for graphics.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

How can you have "said before" if this is your first post?

I am sorry, that part is changed not to make a confusion then. We talked about that at another forum, not here. Update post done with copy/paste. Now its fixed if it is considered relevant.

I tried an Nvidia PCX5750 PCIe card and could only get VESA under Kernel 4.  I have not tried a PCX5300 or PCX5900.  Is it possible I tried an older Kernel 4 (not sure if you released Kernel 4 then made additional updates and released it again with the same name).
