NWAG Meeting - August 2019
« on: July 03, 2019, 04:36:03 PM »
Greetings!

The next NWAG meeting will take place Friday 2nd August 7pm - 10pm at Murdishaw Community Centre, Barnfield Avenue, Runcorn, WA7 6EP, England.

This is a big one as it will be our first meeting since 2016 and the first of regular slots we have booked at the centre so if you are in the area please come along and show us your support and more importantly your Amiga!

The location is situated accessible from junction 11 or junction 12 of the M56 and is a five minute walk from Runcorn East train station. There is on-site parking and street parking nearby. Subs are £3 per person.

Looking forward to meeting some of you there!

Thanks to the handful who made it to second NWAG meeting on Friday, including a rather special figure former Psygnosis employee Mike Clarke! We learned a lot about working in the games industry in the 1990s when the Amiga and Playstation were king and some other interesting stories too! Did you know that Mike was using his Amiga 1200 to make music for games all the way up until 2010? Nope me neither. His program of choice? Bars 'n' Pipes!

As predicted the turnout was low. Unfortunately not all who said they were coming made it in the end. We hope this is just a case of 'the calm before the storm' and as we continue to promote NWAG more people will start attending the meetings. I certainly will not be giving up on NWAG yet and our next meeting has already been booked for Friday 6th September at the same venue of Murdishaw Community Centre in Runcorn. Big thanks to Mark and Julie at the centre for getting the room ready and helping out. It would be great to see some more faces and Amigas there. If you have any questions or need any help with transportation feel free to post message on the group page, there may be people who are coming from a similar location who can help. Onwards and upwards Amigans!
