Coffee-House
« on: February 25, 2004, 08:16:55 PM »
Hi guys,

I think the new coffee house forums are cool & fairly well-split, although I can't help thinking maybe the 'Religion' one should be 'Philosophy'. Maybe that's too wide, I dunno, but it includes religion and a few "religious" topics that aren't necessarily related to the accepted, major organised religions... I dunno, just thought I'd say it, see what you think.

:-)

Needs better forwarding. I mean, it could have been better signposted from talkabout. I spent a few minutes confused as to where threads had gone. I always enter on talkabout and generally have a few of the threads I'm following open in tabs. Suddenly they disappeared on refresh. Alarming.

How about the all-encompassing "Philosophy and Religion"?

Should have called it Starbucks or Krispy Kream or Duncan Donnuts? The Pub!
Then again I suppose we could have called it the "White Chaple District".

What, you've never had drinks other than coffee at a coffee house?

I drink water. :-)

(Either that or lemon and lime squash)

It seems like nerds like to shoot our mouths off about things we know nothing about everywhere. ;)

Can anyone answer THIS question in regard to Wayne's single topic post in that former DMZ- Talk about;
"Where are the Coffee House forums entry point"?

(notice that the word forums is plural)

. . . . . . . .
-EDIT-
Just found such . . . right at the bottom of Forum Subjects!

Anyhow - THANKS Wayne - if that's where your LINKS lead!

BTW,
Why isn't the category labelled:

Coffee-House (formerly Talk-About)((previously to then- DMZ))? :-)

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

-EDIT- (following a visit to C-H )

- Some questions -

1)True, a name such as General, allows for a broad range, but WHY isn't there a separate Coffee-House division for
Humour?

2)In regard to the linking of images . . . is there just a Size Limit for embedding images, such as under 450 or 500 pixels wide, with LARGER images prefered as URL Links?

3)Do you have a policy, or recommend, that VERY controversial images (or Sites) such as those bordering on soft-Pr0n have a WARNING Notice in text in such Links?
