When you open a thread, the focus jumps to the bottom of the thread, quite annoying, imho. Ah, apparently that only applies when accessing them from the front page, I guess I can live with that :)

When you click on one of your recent threads on your profile page, you arrive at one of your posts in that thread.  Perhaps that's what Xoops is trying to do for you in all threads and if it can't find a post by you, it defaults to the last post?

Nope, no defaults. It just takes you to the last post in a topic. Apparently, it was a popular requested feature by those that use Xoops.
If anyone has any suggestions, non-theme related, about how Xoops works, you can head over to http://www.xoops.org and voice your opinions to the developers directly.

About the last posts

I already posted this in another thread but...

For now, just bookmark http://www.amiga.org/modules/lastposts/ to view the latest posts. Works a treat here :-)

Ok, this is my first post on the new www.Amiga.org ... I realy need to get used to the theme ;-) But congrats :-D

Why can't I reply in the news?

Bugs so far:
In the latest posts, there is a link to "forums page", it has a wrong link!

When you want to make a post, there is no "Smiley", there is only the link "more..." ... If you don't want the Smiley-example, couldn't you just rename "more..." into "Smilies"?
Best regards,
Henning Nielsen Lund [Denmark]...

It's just like the counters I had on my first homepage ... When you visit the site, the image has to be loaded ... http://www.danasoft.com/ gets the info of the computer that wants to load the image, and alters it with the information.

@hnl_dk:

I see! they have a cgi or asp that looks at the referrer data in the HTTP request and builds an image on the fly.  Coolest use of that data I've seen yet :-)

[EDIT] BTW Wayne, the notification system rocks :-D

There is only one thing i find a little bit irritating, the
column that only contains this picture:

it takes up to much space imho, it steals some valuable space from the main column, but perhaps there is a hidden feature in having it there?

Anyway, the new theme rendes fast on my machine and it looks very clean and easily navigated.

You guys rocks!

Reporting bugs is good but some people seem to be complaining about the looks. I am sure they will change as time goes by.

Anyone remember the change in the "Windows World" from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 ?

A lot of people found the changes strange and many complained. Ask the same people now and they would probably never go back to Win 3.1 .

It will take a bit of time to adjust and to find the new locations of old features and to get used to the new ones.

Let them iron out the bugs and then they can concentrate on the visual aspects later. :-)

Updated :-) Still, it is that old 'latest posts' link that was on the top right of each forum page that I am missing. I just suggested the link straight to the page for people like myself who used to use that old link a lot.

I've added the Latest Posts link to my Sig, that should help us :-)

The taking you back to the last post feature is actually one thing I really love!

Where are the smillies at the bottom of the post screen? To access them you must click 'more...' now :(

And all of those 'www' 'pmail' 'email' buttons for each users post are gone

I don't know if it's me that's blind, but I can't find any 'mark forum as "read"' link anywhere. That might be a good idea to have, now that the forums no longer (for me, at least) unmarks themselves on exit.

Hmm, does that make sense?
I'll use an example:

I visit the forums, read a few threads that interest me, skip the ones that don't.
Close my browser.

Later on, I come back to see what's new and the ones I skipped earlier are still marked as unread (red folder).

Some way of telling the database that I'm not interested in the rest of the threads (unless there are new posts again) would be nice, just a suggestion :)
