Jiffy DOS help...
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:13:56 AM »
I got the ROM out and now putting in a socket. Soldering the back side will be easy, but I'm worried the top side looked to have solder connections too, on 2 layer circuit board?

Is that needed? I hope not...:(

Please, real C=64 nerds only, not for fake linux lamers

Are the holes PTH? ( Plated Through Holes )
If the inside of the hole is conductive, you should only need to solder the back side.

Um, I don't know. Guess I'll get the meter and check the top lines...

I already put the socket in from the back side

Seems ok, top lines are registering from the socket points to the CB at the base. Lines are coated so those are not really usable.

C-64 motherboards are plated through.

I had a feeling they were. It did not sound right if they were not.
