Title: New A1200 cases, kickstarter successful
Post by: kolla on October 28, 2015, 03:50:09 AM
I am somewhat bewildered that this news has not made it here yet.

The kickstarter to create new molds and new A1200 cases has passed its goal of 125000 euros - hundred and twenty five thousands euros!!! Congratulations, and best luck with production!

That's a totally insane amount of money considering what it is!! Not that I don't think it's cool, it IS cool :)

Im super excited about this!

I think it might end up housing a raspberry PI till A1200 reloaded - but boy this is fantastic news.

If only there was a new run of keyboards too.

Anyone know if the new "Tabor" boards could be squeezed inside ?

Nick

For the Tabor...wait form my X500 Pro case...in about two weeks...

You can build yourself the most powerful Amiga inside an all in one case. ;)

Keyboards are supposed to be next AFAIK, now that the cases have backed successfully.

I backed it for two, not sure what I'll do with them yet - probably a Pi in one, and save the other for Reloaded.  :)

I will put my A1200 in the case while I wait for 1200 reloaded, will also put a HxC floppy emulator in it and start doing some modifications that I have hesitated to do on my original case.

Hey some positive news from Kolla!   ;-)

Yes this is a nice thing to see coming out. It may provide a good home for the A1222...

Yes, it will run about the same speed as a real A1200 system too then! :D

What part did you not get?
The stretch goal was to make the 3D models public.
Great for 3D printing spare parts :)

You should now make one for the A500 case, it's also a very cool case and the most popular of all Amigas.

Oh that's cool - thanks for clarifying it to me.
This could actually be interesting in terms of making modifications to the original design.

I'd consider modifying it to support Loriano's keyboards.

No problem :)

Myself am thinking of building my own mechanical keyboard (cherry mx blue switches) from scratch for my A1200 in this new case!
