Hi All,
I wanted to poll the community to see how everyone feels about how to watch the broadcast. Thanks to the hard work of Michael Trebilcock maintaining both yt.rexx and ffplay to support the latest changes YouTube made to live streaming. If this holds we can watch youtube live streams from Amiga NG systems.
Our other option is to leverage the NSV format which is supported by Mplayer. The challenge is I need to set up servers and manage it all.
If for some reason you can't make the show and want to watch from home, please respond to the poll.
Thanks!

Thank you for all you do every year with the broadcast and to all the other "behind the scenes" folks who help as well. I always enjoy watching and I hope for a good turnout at the show this year.
If you need help testing any of the feeds, etc. just let me know.

I just want the audio/video synched better. 20 seconds off last year.

But in the end, who really cares. AmiWest broadcasts are forty-five minutes of listening to people having problems setting up presentations or the hotel wifi, followed by several hours of filming empty chairs at the sound of people talking in the distance. And if you're really lucky, a presentation you can either see or hear but never both.
It really should be put out of its misery. It was sad 15 years ago. Now it's worse.
@KennyR
Thank you your kind words.
As one of the co-founders of AmiWest..
I'm sorry that you find us ready to be put down. (ouch) really?
I want you to know that our little user group endeavor is all voluntary and the little
budget we have is mostly to pay the hotel and it's services (i.e. net access)
WE know that this is not the broadcast quality our many followers want,
But it is what we can afford.
You could, if you wish, bring your knowledge and resources to help,
and make our little show better.

Those with an interest in Amiga.

Having a live webcam all the time means capturing the good moments (like the presentations) and the mundane moments (when nothing is really happening except for technical problems).
...followed by several hours of filming empty chairs at the sound of people talking in the distance.
Again another mundane moment. Just like watching any other, 24-hour, live webcam from any other location in the world. Of course, like any other live webcam, you are free to walk away (and hopefully, you won't miss anything.)
And if you're really lucky, a presentation you can either see or hear but never both.
If you cannot see/hear it on the webcam, then wait for the high-def video to be posted (which will be done this year, thank goodness).
Truly,
Robert Bernardo

I would love to view the AmiWest show using a stream. (youtube would be nice with my X5000 and YT.rexx)
Keep up the good work

Hi All,
I'm going to broadcast via youtube again. Those with Amiga OS4 systems can stream live youtube via YT.rexx on OS 4 Depot: http://www.os4depot.net/share/video/misc/yt.lha (http://www.os4depot.net/share/video/misc/yt.lha). I've gone ahead and posted the YT.rexx docs online here: http://www.amiwest.net/broadcast/YT_HTML/ (http://www.amiwest.net/broadcast/YT_HTML/).
I'd recommend getting it setup before the show, there are a few steps to go through to get it working. The Bloomberg live channel is a great way to test everything is working. I'll try to get the AmiWest website updated in the next few days.
Cheers,
Bill "tekmage" Borsari

Thanks. This year I bought a studio light kit from Amazon. Should help brighten up the speaker so it will look much nicer on the video. It's the first year I have them so hopefully we'll get it all figured out and make it look good. Enjoy the show!

Great, thank you! When is the stream starting and what's the YouTube address?

This year we will be broadcasting with youTube. For AmigaOS 4 users they can install the YT.rexx tool http://www.os4depot.net/share/video/misc/yt.lha (http://www.os4depot.net/share/video/misc/yt.lha) and FFMPEG http://www.os4depot.net/share/video/convert/ffmpeg.lha (http://www.os4depot.net/share/video/convert/ffmpeg.lha) to watch youtube live steams. We have posted the YT.rexx docs http://www.amiwest.net/broadcast/YT_HTML/ (http://www.amiwest.net/broadcast/YT_HTML/) to help folks get things set up.
