SOLVED: A4000 installing 68040 CPU board - yellow screen
« on: March 26, 2011, 09:25:11 PM »
I just picked up an A4000 with the 68040 CPU card. I've taken the card out to put it in, my already working 68030 A4000.

But when installed and during boot i get a yellow screen.

Are there any other steps I need to take to get it working - or should it be plug-and-play? Does it require another kickstart version, jumpers?

Jumpers. 030 internal, 040 external clock AFAIR.

You have a good memory - the jumper under the CPU card changed to EXT and the machine boots :-)

Easy to remember - 030 int - 040 ext - 060 int (but exceptions do occur...)
