Hi All,
I know quite a few of us here are also licenced amateur radio operators. A couple of us have started a group on Facebook to organise 'retro computing' nets on the radio over the upcoming holiday period and beyond.
Todays chat included included Amiga 1200/600s, The Lincolnshire Amiga Group meets, Workbench versions, Scalos, WHDLoad and failing PSUs (Amiga & BBC Micro). We also talked about last months Retro Revival event in the UK, in particular the consoles on display (Gamecube, Dreamcast, CD32 etc).
Future schedules will be posted via the Facebook group, complete with links to 'listen live'. We do also plan on recording the discussions for those who can't join/listen at the time.

Do you have any recommendations for someone interested in getting started? I think HAM could be fun at some point, when I finish my last year of school a year from now and have time for other things again.

Hi billt,
The best thing you can do is find a local club and get involved. There's so many aspects to the hobby, there's something for everyone.
Plus it's fun to mix hobbies; I still use an Amiga for packet radio using AmiCom. I did also track down the author of mksstv (a program to allow transmission of 'slow scan' TV images); he seemed impressed someone was still using his software in 2015 but sadly no longer maintains it, or even has the source :(
