Brighton/Sussex uni? What on earth were they doing with 500's laying around?

I'm over Hastings way. Back er 18 years ago or something when doing Computing A Level at Bexhill college a few of us refused to use the PC's and did our work on our 1200's in Amos/Blitz basic then when it needed reviewing I would bring mine in and go find a TV somewhere in the college to demonstrate our work.

.....then spend a while playing Super Stardust ;)

Sounds like one is actually an A500+, the one with 2.xx ROMs and an animated disk jumping into a drive screen.

The other is a standard A500 with the white startup screen and a hand holding an Workbench disk... Which brings me on to my next question... Did you get any workbench disks? Or other software? The machines are not going to do much without software :(

from what i understand they were hooked upto analysers in a lab, purchased at the same time as the analysiers, the labs grant had run out and the lab was cleared ready for the next group to come in, anything not wanted was dumped
i've had 6 or so bbc b's, and a couple of acorn archimedes over the years, kept the best beeb to play with and the rest went on that well known online auction site.....

anyway, got no software with them, got power supplies, mice,1 external floppy drive and a gvp impact series 2 hard drive.

was looking at getting a cheap game off fleabay to try, and ask on the forum if anyone has a workbench disk i can borrow/buy/get copy off
