If you can get hold of it, the CU Amiga 21 games disk was great. I remember me and my sister playing the games on that disk for many years. The games are categorised, and include puzzles as well as action and arcade games. The games are very old now and probably don't look too good, but I'm sure your children won't mind :-)

the word "children" is archaic and went out of fashion many years ago.

Still very common and widely used in my part of the world. However, normally "kids" refers to the ones you posses, and "children" refers to a group not your own. "my kids", "those childern". But they're basically interchangable.

Actually, Kids is the informal word of Children Kid/Kids = Child/Children

kid (CHILD)
noun [C]
1 INFORMAL a child:
He took the kids to the park while I was working.

2 INFORMAL a young person:
He was only 16, just a kid really.

3 MAINLY US INFORMAL sb's kid sister/brother someone's younger sister or brother

My almost 4 year old son loves playing Thomas the Tank Engines (the first one...).  I use the trained version that gives you unlimited time, but he's getting pretty good at it.  He can do the collection stages pretty well, but he hasn't gotten the hang of the races yet.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

If there's *one* game that I can think of which is very suitable for children, both to look at or to play by themselves, it's Rodland.

Colourful, a simple and catchy tune and very cute baddies :-)

Yes, it is a bit violent. But Dana says she is shooting at "Witches and Robots". She really enjoys it and I'm not going to tell her any different ;-)

I would scout eBay for some educational software such as the Fun School range which were very good. They had some nice graphics, no blood or violence and the children learn something too! I'm hanging on to my Fun School disks for when my 6 month old boy is old enough to play them (assuming my Amiga is still operating by then!)

I don't let 2y-old son play with my Amigas so couldn't say, however on the PC he's fasinated with NFS - MostWanted (likes to help dad with the gaspedal and/or nos button) and TrackMania Nations (very simular to 4D sportsdriving).

Well, you did give him a keyboard at early age, if I don't remember everything wrong. ;-)

About Prince of Persia; maybe it's no too suited to kids because when people die in the game it can be a bit bloody.
A bit bloody? Our poor prince could be chopped in halves, or impaled. I played it when I was 10 or 11 and let my sis do the chopper thing... too scary for me :nervous:
(But it was (is?) my favorite game)

the Children had fun with that one.

Hi,

@ Brian

Darn, let him play some real PC games like Quake IV, Doom3,
Far Cry, Crysis, Castle Wolfenstien and the Clancy series.

Quit cheating him out of real fun
