So what your saying basically is this is a great boot partition but not a HD replacement.
Read is good, write, not so much!

More like seek is good, read is ok, and write is slow. Only asynchronous transfers are supported which will limit maximum transfer speeds. It is quick but not fast. It should be a reliable and affordable alternative to aging 50 pin SCSI hard drives but there are higher performance options.

An ACard adapter with an IDE to SD converter doesn't cost much more and performs a lot better.

Geeeee Wizzzzz!  This community really is a tough crowd.  I have systems that will love this.  I wish Mech's CF reader were also still as available.

I'd like 1 or 2 in my Christmas stocking!

So, does that mean it's read speed is slower than my a500s current hdd setup?

Seen one of these in person yesterday. Nice looking hardware. Its a great idea too. Being able to put 128GB card in one give you some seriously cool space in a small area on top of having lightning fast boot up speeds!

This is neat:

"The power supply has been reworked to be much more efficient, and will allow the new SCSI2SD to run on the terminator power alone. In many cases there will be no need for the power cable."  (From the codesrc website)

This has promise for use in my TI.

you dont have a nanopeb? its the bee's knees ;D

SCSI to IDE to sd is alot of conversions, better off with scsi to ide to cf, since a cf is a true ide interface. less latency since no conversion to serial nature of SD but your experience may differ.. I have used a few sd converters on 4000 ide with a bunch of different cards, they work but i notice they aren't as snappy as cf and some are problematic with bigger cards.

My question is how do you use these things?
I plugged one into my scsi chain on my 4000T. It doesn't even show up to prep!

C'mon now, what else have you tried?

Just from looking at the picture, have you tried:  remove the resistors?  Add the resistors?  Remove the jumper?  Add the jumper?

I assume you have a MicroSD card already inserted?  I can't tell from the pic, is there some way of changing the ID?

It didn't come with any instructions at all?  Bah.  :(

Maybe try unplugging all the other devices from your SCSI chain and seeing if it's recognized then?

http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD

on my pc I hooked it up via usb cable to pc. set id to 4 (default is 0) and enable scsi 2 mode. Also upgraded firmware to 4.5

I used hdinstools and it seen the 16 gig card I used. I set the file system to fastfilesystem 43.20 and partition card as normal.

Pretty much had to figure it all out cause there was no manual or how too's.

Then I copied everything off the old hd to the card.

So I just got mine in today and tested it out on my A4000T. This is one cool device! I am going to put in a spare 16GB card I have and duplicate the HD partitions in my current drive. LOVE this thing! The 8GB card I just tested that it came with worked flawlessly when I set it up and booted off it.

Are you sure its faster than your old hard drive? according to the specifications its only 2.5mb per second. A SCSI hard drive is between 10 and 20mb per second.
