ADF NDOS Games Problem...
« on: October 06, 2009, 02:16:00 PM »
Hello.

I'm trying to get NDOS Games to work on my Amiga500 1.3 1MB RAM NO-HDD.

I have the games on my PC in .ADF format. I tryed with ADF Sender Terminal and AmigaExplorer with serial cable, and use "Transwarp" and "Transdisk" on the Amiga but No Luck :(

But when i trying AmigaDos Games it work just fine. :)

But after i have transferd NDOS Games from Pc -> Amiga, the disc boot up but stops at AmigaDos Window and says " Non Dos Disc " But the .ADF game image is working fine in WinUAE on PC.

What am i doing wrong?

PLZ. Help me

ADF files will not run from floppy disks in their current state on an A500. You need to write the .ADF file back onto a blank floppy disk using something like ADF2DISK from Aminet

Probably your Amiga is infected by a bootblock virus which overwrites the bootblock immediately after the transfer.

Switch off the Amiga, then boot from a virus-free write protected disk and install a new bootblock to your usual boot disk. Then transfer the ADFs again.

Bye,
Thomas

ZeBeeDee, You didn't read my post carefully enough did you?
I can't run that program becuse that is requires Kickstart 2.0, and i only have Kickstart 1.3 as i was writen in the post in the begining.

AND .ADF file/games is runing great if they have AmigaDos format in them !!!
And i use/try Transdisk and Transwarp with AmigaDos=Working :)
NDOS/Non Dos Disk= NOT WORKING.

And i have tryed many games from .ADF files.

I already told you what to do. A bit more detailed:

- switch off your Amiga
- get your 10 years old backup of the Workbench disk from the cupboard
- make sure it is write protected
- put it into the floppy drive and switch on the Amiga
- open a shell window
- enter copy c:install ram:
- now insert your usual boot disk into the drive (the one with transdisk or transwarp on it)
- enter ram:install df0:
- repeat the last two steps with every disk you own which might have been infected (every DOS disk). Do not do this with working NDOS disks because it will destroy the custom bootblock. Whenever you encounter a non-working NDOS disk start over from the beginning (switch off your amiga...)

If you don't have a 10 year old backup or another disk which definitely is not infected, then you are lost. You cannot remove the virus while it is in memory and it is always in memory when you boot from an infected disk.

Bye,
Thomas
