Favourite games on Aminet
« on: May 17, 2004, 01:48:41 AM »
I need a little something to cheer me up, as anyone who read the spam thread can attest to.  ;-)

Can anybod suggest good games on Aminet?  Something which will work with a 68000 and ECS chipset (maybe a 68030), which has cheerful graphics and chipper music, and requires a modest level of problem solving.

Dunno if it quite fits the problem solving part, but Megaball has always been one of my favorites for low-end Amigas. The shareware version of 3.0 is on Aminet. Despite being called MegaballAGA.lha, it will work on ECS. Music is in a separate archive, MBmusic.lha.

I highly recommend picking up 4.0. I think it's still available in some incarnation...

on that one.  Deluxe Galaga also is a must have.

Brutal Homicide is good if you have two players. BH version 2 is AGA only, but version 1.9xxx will work on ECS. Actually, you could still play these games with one player, as theres a robot to kill as well.

And so is Deluxe Pacman, for that matter, by the same author. That was the first and best version of Pacman I played.

EDIT: ...which upon further examination does not actually appear to be on Aminet. I think BTTR has it, though.

Thank-you.  I managed to find everything but Deluxe Pacman.  Is there a list of legal sources of Amiga software.  I found a couple which claimed to be (Ami Sector One, BTTR), but I also found the amount of released software to be unbelievable.  To my knowledge, other users of other obsolete platforms are having considerable difficulties getting software released.

As far as I know, BTTR is 100% legit.
