Now why did you have to go and post that... :(

I've just spotted another C64 in that listing, already bought 4 in the past week, now I've got the urge to bid again... :(

(MUST RESIST... MUST RESIST... )

A high-speed bus that interacts with an arbitrary CPU emulation running on a host system would be far more interesting.

Can you believe there are some people actually resistant to the idea of a $100 SuperCPU clone?
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

I haven't been on Lemon for a while (since all my 128 and stuff was stolen). The link you posted had some really shocking posts.
I am one of these nuts that would much rather use a C 128, but if there were only a C-64 SCPU clone, I would be happy with that!

well this is true in a way for re-sale value reasons but also the bright side is that there will be more people making some cool stuff for it

Actually put me in the camp of a SuperCPU 128 owner who would LOVE to see $100 clones. The more of them out in the wild, the more developers would support it.

It's a bit silly, in my opinion, to be against this if it could be done and be profitable. I think Commodore enthusiasts have shown time and time again they are willing to purchase reasonable priced new hardware to feed their hobby of keeping on using the old 8bit systems as much as we do with our Amigas.
I can see the current owners of SuperCPUs being worried new hardware would reduce the value of their current hardware. But, if you purchased one for a crazy amount of money hopeing it would be worth even crazier money, then like any investment you took your chances. With classic hardware you always take your chance with it. Any of it can not turn the next time the switch is flipped even if not used and kept safe adn snug in a box which turns that goldmine into just another curiosity of a bygone age.
New hardware sane people can actually aford would put it in hands of new developers who still code for these systems meaning more software and even more hardware projects. I'm not sure it could be done for $100 considering the time and low expected volume of sales, but even $200 I'm sure many can justify considering some 1541 replacement hardware is in the $100 range.

I wonder if it is possible to get the FPGA64 core (that should be running on FPGAArcade soon, if not already) enhanced with SuperCPU (or SuperCPU-like) functionality. Certainly a faster CPU core must be possible on the FPGA. In addition, a C65 core might be a fun thing to play with.

I will jump into the fray and say that I, too, would support an inexpensive SuperCPU clone.  I have long wanted to expand my 64 systems (though I primarily use a 128D these days) but the astronomic expense of SuperCPUs in private sales and on eBay have put me off.  I cannot justify spending several hundreds of dollars, especially not over $1000, for old ass hardware.  I would happily spend a couple of hundred on new hardware which is more functional and capable.  (well, if I had a couple of hundred to spare, that is ;))
