AGA Games and WHDLoad
« on: November 23, 2009, 03:56:21 AM »
I just registered WHDLoad and started to install more games. Some of the AGA games work fine, others are distored, half on the screen, etc. Is it a problem with my scandoubler? I have the cybervision 64/3d w/ the optional scandoubler. I don't think it passes all the colors through, or is it a problem with a screenmode? If it's a screenmode, how do I find and adjust the right one?

pan1k: hmm, 'half on the screen'... Have you tried running games on a PAL screen? Either with Degrader, or using the 'PAL' tooltype in WHDLoad? I know nothing about scandoublers, but you should always check the basic/simple stuff first :)

Move the PAL/NTSC switch on the motherboard to PAL and live with it this way. Of course, you'll not be able to use a NTSC Video Toaster with this A4000.

Also notice that some slot scandoublers are not NTSC/PAL agnostic.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Switching to PAL did the trick for the most part.. hadn't thought about it, but then I remembered that a lot of games are PAL only. I'm re-doing my games partition after it crashed... going to do it right this time!

pan1k: I wish you best of luck in re-doing your games partition. I do feel your pain, I had a ~10GB IBM DeskStar (aka DeathStar) fail on me about 3 years ago.... I was lucky, I had CD backups of most of it... I lost 'only' 2GB... So, the moral of the story is make sure you have some sort of backup...
