Bluetooth Serial Adapter for Amiga 3000
« on: September 12, 2016, 01:25:39 AM »
Yo, Fellow Amiganz.

Anyone out there got a Serial Bluetooth Adapter working on their Amigas? If so, what brand, what model?

Thinking of buying one for my A3000 (towered). From what I've read, a compatible BT adapter is just a matter of plugging in (probably via a 25-15 pin-changer) to the Amiga's rear serial port. An Elbox Mediator is installed too, so perhaps a serial port card mounted in one of its slots would also work. Besides using it for general comms purposes with other computers, there is also all this Amiga Forever/Amiga Explorer software here that I would (finally - now I have the time) like to get working. Would appreciate a recommendation from some kind soul out there who actually has a serial Bluetooth gadget working successfully in their machine.

Apparently, no software set-up is required on the Amiga side - all transfers can be controlled from the PC side via Amiga Explorer.

Perhaps this: http://www.brainboxes.com/product/bl-819/bluetooth-to-rs232-serial-adapter-1-port-male

Or this: http://www.usconverters.com/serial-bluetooth-adapter

I know there are other ways to communicate with other machines - but I wanna try Bluetooth on my ol' Miggy. It'll be fun! :-)

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers, Mr. CrackPot.
