Title: Workbench backdrop pictures
Post by: RTID75 on November 30, 2019, 11:33:11 AM
I've got a football picture as my backdrop image. It's from when the Amiga was my sole computer, so it's very out of date as that was 16 years ago!

I feel it's time for a new picture. Are there any modern Amiga related images sites or pages out there with backdrop pictures suitable for CybergraphX screen resolutions?

Also, OS3.9's 'Fire', 'Leaves', 'Water' (from memory!) type patterns for use in open windows - are there any more modern patterns out there? I thought they looked great at the time, but now look a bit dated.

What is a Cybergraphix resolution? When I used CGX it used normal ones.

Have some originality and don't put an amiga themed wallpaper on your amiga. Do you drive around in your car wearing a tshirt of your car?

I prefer manga girls and nature, mostly, ehm, women. But Amiga themed wallpapers are cool, too. 8)

Use the image search of your favourite search engine and type in 'amiga wallpaper'. I used to have a collection of Amiga themed wallpapers but it's on a broken laptop now. Do you remember the time when having a brick wall for wallpaper was uber cool?!  :D

Thanks for the replies.

By CybergraphX resolutions I meant high resolution, 16/24 bit colour, not 320x240 in 8 colours.  ;)

Well technically the lowest resolution for the WB is 640x200-256  ;D

No, at least not display size. You can run WB in Lowres 320x200, with a bigger autoscroll screen. ;)

That's why I said "technically"  ;D

It would be great if you could upload them at amiga-look.org as well, were people can find equivalent stuff for their desktop.

Hi

Hope I haven't missed the point, but have you tried Aminet

https://aminet.net/search?query=backdrop

I generally create images in Photoshop on the PC and then save in Amiga IFF. You can also save in JPG and just upload to PPaint and save the same way.

Its way more fun creating your own. And to get the resolution just save the backdrop and interogate on the PC to get a perfect match.

Hope that makes sense.

By the way I always found backdrops and drawer images burnt though my memory.
