Anyone had any dealings With ComputerCity in Rotterdam?
They have a couple of things I'd like but I wanted to ask about them before I hand the money over :-)

Probably best not to listen to Palpatine ;-)

Who's Palpatine? :-?

Who's Palpatine?
That would be me :-D
I am one of the two owners of Computer City, can I help?
Cheers,
Ron

Nothing but good I hope? ;-)

Also known as "the twilight zone" or "the oberhausen bermuda triangle" ?
No, nothing new from what I know, but I think I explained you some things on the phone about that some months ago. I am no longer involved...
Best regards,
Ron

@Ron,
at least that one, is a good news :-)

Last month I purchased a KCS Powerboard from ebay. They shipped it really fast and nicely packaged.
I'd recommend them.

Not recently, but never had any problems with them and ordered good were delivered fast.
They also host www.amiga.nl (http://www.amiga.nl), so any dutch typing amigalunatics out there may want to hop over..
-
Haven't orderem from them yet, but emails were quickly replied to. Overall a friendly feeling.
They have been around from quite a long time and that should say something. In the past I had good dealings with them.
Will order some parts soon I think, just bought 6 500's I need to revive... :)

Computer city and Ron are very reliable Amiga dealers. They strive to support the community and have top quality products and service.

:-? Is that all Computer City stores, or just the one?
-
Huh? There's just one...in Rotterdam :-). I've ordered a few bits and bobs over the years from them. Excellent service.

Hi Odin,
Actually there is one is Russia, which is not related. There is also a small chain of stores in the USA called Computer City I think (LOL).
They just use our name without asking... no respect! ;-)
Seriously, we are not in any way connected to other "Computer City"'s that may exist.
Cheers,
Ron

Hm, time to buy them out? ;-).
-
Perhaps we should start a thread...
"I am the REAL Computer City, all others are impostors. Change your name now before I bust a cap in your Butt" :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

Nah... waste of ammo ;-)

I ordered several stuff years ago and it was always superb and fast.
Only thing: for small parts the P&P costs are pretty high, but you can overcome by ordering more ;)

Which is the idea :-D

;-) Upon reflection, I recall that there are many chains here. One is called "Comp City, USA," and that may be the one that I was thinking of.
I know one large chain carried the Amiga branded memory stick game packs a while back, and that memory may have colored my thinking.

A bit of necromancing here, but, did Computer City stop? Can't find any article considering this...

Don't deal with Ron. I repeat be smart don't do any deals with Ron. He stole 900 euro from me. Making promises of refunds i'm still waiting for two year now.

Well, I had some good deals with 'em, but the last one, already a year ago, went wrong (thankfully, not a big deal). And the site's not updated for a long time...

{bleep}! i'm really sorry to ear this! Ron helped a lot during the DCE saga. :-(

I think that Ron, just like a lot of other companies, has more or less had enough about the Amiga scene.
We have arrived at a stage that 1 shop per country isn't possible anymore. It's now a few shops per continent.
Only a few things can help Amiga shops now. Amiga OS 4 and new hardware. Not going to see that happen.
New accelerators for the classics with 68060 processors mounted on them and some other classic hardware. Don't think that will happen either.
We're going downhill again.

Oh, I can understand that. But, why no announcement? Why not just be clear to the former customers? Why not fulfilling the duties towards the customers (either paying back or delivering the order)?
They still owe me 30 euros
