Title: PC Keyboard and Mouse adapter
Post by: on December 07, 2002, 02:49:24 PM
Hi peeps, is there somewhere I can get a plugin PC keyboard and mouse adapter for my Ateo towered A4000. Please help, I am out of desk space (or should that be disk space on my peecee ;)  )

Must be plugin if poss, I do not want to get a soldering iron anywhere near my beloved A4000

Thanx, Riff-Raff
 :-)

Most keyboard adapters clip over an IC on the motherboard (well at least on the A1200) and there are mouse adapters available which just plug into the mouse port (Punchinello for example).

Every Amiga retailer can sell you this stuff, I see you're in the UK so why don't try Eyetech of Power Computing.

Thanx Odin, however I do remember there being a plugin box that went in to both  the mouse and keyboard sockets rather than the clip over chip method..... I bet they dont make it now. But if nothing else is put my way I will follow your lead  :-)

Ah okay..didn't know there also was a KB socket thingy..makes sense though =).

If all else fails you might want to look  up mmkeyboard.lha on Aminet. You'll need a soldering iron =).

Nooooo... You guys are nuts clipping stuff on chips and soldering....

Mr Hardware has the answers!!

Mr Hardware Comptuers (http://www.mrhardwarecomputers.com/)

Check out the MRHMK keyboard and mouse adaptors.  They externaly plug in the port, and work very well.  I'm using them.  (under the Mice Keyboards and Input Devices section -- the new website design seems much more cryptic than it was before!)
