AD516 Card prices on the rise
« on: September 22, 2006, 11:51:53 PM »
Wow, when did AD516 cards get popular again? Makes me think about selling my pair for an Amiga next gen system. (When ever one actully appears) Is it because of it use in ProStation Audio?

Sunrise Card on Ebay today

Yea, I saw that auction as well. Prices on Amiga sound cards can flux quite a bit. One day a card will go for $50 and the next time it will go for $175.

I guess it depends on whose looking.

Doesn't look like it...ProStationAudio drivers

Years ago at AmiWest, I asked the AudioLab guys and they said they can't or couldn't develop drivers for the AD516. However, the Studio16 software that comes with the AD516 is most ample...   get it amp..  Would have been trick if the AD516 card was ZIII had a built in scsi header.

Based on the starting price of that second card, I'd say some one is definitly watching ebay besides us.

Check the page for the AHIinout driver. AHI supports AD516 so that's probably the one you use. It's true that before AHI there was little support beyond Studio16. Thankfully Ben Fuller forwarded dev information to the AHI project before his passing :-(.

Congratulations, you got a great return on it despite it's age. I agree, they are still one of the best cards around for Amiga or PC, though it lacks some of the latest features in the PC market. I still own a pair of them. Mine have been dormant for a couple of years, but I'm still not sure that I want to part with them. I'm still thinking about it.

well I for one am selling of all the stuff I don't need. I have one other AD516 card. But I have not used them for years. I have several Picasso IVs also. I might end up parting with one or two of those too before the years up. I even had interest shown in one of my 3000t's. Still not sure about that. I may just end up keeping one. There are so many people in the amiga community and others are showing interest, its ashame to leave them in the closet when other might want to utilize the hardware. Just a thought
