Hello, everyone!
I just wanted to announce that my new Amiga series, 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast (10MARC) is up and available on my website www.10marc.com and on YouTube at https://youtu.be/ar5WUsKKvrw
In the series I am covering all things Amiga related, with an emphasis on using our equipment in today's world. I tried to keep each video at around 10 minutes because I'm also making these videos available for viewing on just about any Amiga with a hard drive. I have the video casts available in mpeg1 which the Amiga with moderate expandability can handle pretty well, and also in a unique ham 6 and ham 8 video mode. These modes can even play back full screen video on an Amiga 500 or 600 with a reasonably good hard drive.
Episodes 1 & 2 are already up and episode 3 should be available this weekend. Please check out my channel and web page and keep the Amiga Community growing strong!
Thanks!

Hi!
Just discovered your series on YouTube and watched episode 3. :) Great stuff! Was cool to see all that hardware you've got. Looking forward to see more videos in the future. :) Made a post about it on my blog as well, so hope it'll help spread the word. ;) https://oldschoolgameblog.com/2018/09/02/10-minute-amiga-retro-cast-episode-3-taking-stock/ (https://oldschoolgameblog.com/2018/09/02/10-minute-amiga-retro-cast-episode-3-taking-stock/)

Episode Four is now published - And it is all about the Individual Computers Rapid Road USB Adapter. Please check it out!
This episode is broken into two parts - 10 minutes was just not enough to cover the review of the Individual Computers Rapid Road USB Adapter. I cover the pros and cons of this wonderful unit and try to clear up some misconceptions about it. Please take a look at both Part one and Part two of this video.
Don't forget all my previous videos are available on http://www.10marc.com , and those videos can be downloaded and viewed right on your Amiga.
10MARC Episode 4 - Part One - https://youtu.be/cA4_szGXxRM
10MARC Episode 4 - Part Two - https://youtu.be/6Lq-5T-tnSU
Next week I think I am going to cover the new "Worthy" game - I am having a blast playing that!

10 Minute Amiga Retrocast Episode 5 is up now! In the episode, titles "The 15 Khz Conundrum", I cover some of the current options for connecting our beloved Amiga's to real 15Khz monitors available today.
I also have the wrong website listed in the video. It is supposed to be http://15khz.wikidot.com
Check out the Youtube video at https://youtu.be/0-htHsT-ZcM
I will have the MPEG1 version and HAM6 Version on www.10marc.com soon. I corrected the website error in those versions.
-
10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast version 6 is up now. In this episode, I am covering the Digital creations DCTV Slow Scan digitizer. That thing is great! It is a bit long (24 minutes), but I had a lot to cover. I think I would occasionally prefer to do one double sized video instead of two smaller videos like I did with the Rapid Road review. Any preferences?
I will have the MPEG1 video uploaded to Aminet soon, but I may pass this week on the HAM6 and HAM8 videos - with a video this size, they would be larger than a Gig...
Anyway, enjoy the video and share it with your friends!

Hey all! This weeks episode is all about my A2200 motherboard - that rare board the Commodore was almost ready to release back in '92 or so. I have one of a handful of the original boards, and this week I am covering the hardware side of things on this board. In the coming weeks, I will (hopefully) bring it back to life!
Take a look at the video here - https://youtu.be/6UO8qxPBb8o
And don't forget to subscribe. I am trying to reach 100 subs so I can give my channel a real name!
All of my old videos formatted for playback on the Amiga are available at http://www.10marc.com
Thanks!

Episode 11 of "10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast" is actually less than 10 minutes! Will wonders never cease! This week I provided commentary (possibly a small rant) on the current legal struggles of the copyright owners of Amiga software. Sigh... almost 30 years later and still bickering... Anyway, take a look at the new video!

thanks look forward to your Amiga Retro Cast's :)

By the same logic, maybe they should stop publishing Amiga Future and just post the articles here.
Look, if the "surprising and welcome" information is really important, I'm sure we'll hear about it soon enough anyway.
Best regards,
Niels

Hi all
Think the wiki is wrong "in 2012 Amiga inc completed transfer of copyrights to Cloanto" ???? Should that not be 2019 ?
Licensing rights[edit]
In 2010 Commodore USA announced they acquired the rights to the Amiga name and relaunch Amiga branded desktops running AROS[17] and Linux ,[18] which however Hyperion Entertainment promptly disputed,[19] on the basis of a 2009 settlement agreement between Hyperion and Amiga Inc. After legal threats from Hyperion due to conditions in the Amiga Inc. settlement that they are now subject to as an Amiga licensee, Commodore USA later droped their AROS plans and announce on their relaunched website, that they will create a new OS called AMIGA Workbench 5.0 (name changed to Commodore OS since Workbench was owned by Cloanto), which was later revealed will be based on Linux.[20]
In 2011, Amiga Inc. licensed the brand name to Hong Kong based manufacturer IContain Systems, Ltd.[21]
In 2012, Amiga Inc. completed transfer of copyrights to Cloanto.[22][23]

Slow AGA in 128/256/HAM8? Use FBlit and FText. Makes a HUGE difference on my setup. Even on double scan screen modes the 256 colour screens are quite fast comparatively. On PAL screens 256 colour mode is really really fast. I'd think any Amiga > 68020 25MHz would begin to benefit at a guess, but I've only ever used it on an 060. There's FScreen as well which takes it even further, but I know little about it and I heard it causes problems (this was about 10 years ago I looked into that).

This week on 10 Minute Amiga Retro Cast, I am introducing a brand new product to the Amiga Community! The ROMulator from Kipper2K and Amiga on the Lake
I just watched this (wasn't 10 minutes, did it? :D )
I could not comment for some reason, so here are my 3 cents:
Here is some issues:
1) Distributing from the U.S. only with a steep price tag will cause Europe's customs to jump in.
2) The steep price tag.
3) The form factor being incompatible with MegiChip by default, because of a giant MPU used to, hm, play mod files?

I don't disagree with you, really. I understand that shipping from the USA can be pretty expensive, but Amiga on the Lake apparently helped fund the project, so I guess it is OK that they want to sell it first. (If they ever put it up for sale)
The price is not too bad considering it is an ARM chip on there! and a Meg of RAM. Everyone deserves to make a buck, too. Putting months of time and effort and building costs into a project should net a guy more than a friendly pat on the back.
The big chip runs the show, and it would be hard to reduce the form factor. I bet there are not too many MegaChips out there. My solution cost me $2.95 at my local electronics store, and works 100%. We Amigans do love to modify things, eh?
Ya... 10 minutes... That does not happen often! ;)

Hi Doug,
Could you please have the author of the compatibility chart take a look at one entry I noticed?
the list (https://static1.squarespace.com/static/51f517f0e4b01da70d01ca2a/t/5a2f36e953450aa1429361d9/1513043690556/240p-TVs_20171211.pdf)
Under the listing for Sceptre I see the only instance of "pass" being written with a "red" background, that otherwise seems to be reserved for "fail". So, at present I'm not sure what the status is for this one.
For those unacquainted with Sceptre, they have rather extensive circuitry which is helpful for those with older equipment as well as new. Although it will vary with model and one should always read about circuitry prior to purchase, the norm for me has been:
3 HDMI, VGA, Composite, and Component inputs, all switchable of course from remote. They also work perfectly with cheap displayport to HDMI cabling (no adaptor purchase required). With so many recent tv/monitors confined to HDMI inputs only, these are worthy of investigation by those with older equipment, imo.
Heh. No, this is not an ad. I just know these sets are always and currently available and I meet many older users who require more extensive input options than are usually available these days. Hope the info helps.

Thanks for the SimpleMail IMAP config. -- have been working on this for sometime and haven't figured out what is missing. I just get a "Failed to connect" to SMTP even after I changed the gmail less security option in my gmail account. So not sure what else I'm doing wrong.
Gmail is particularly frustrating sometimes. Double check that you have the ports and levels of SSL/TLS set correctly.
