Installing AMIX under WinUAE 2.6 - new guide
« on: June 28, 2013, 06:26:36 PM »
Since my last attempt to install Amix in WinUAE (ended up with partly-succesfull but bootable install, see here, I didn't notice then that A.org had a sub-forum for the Amiga UNIX, otherwise I'd have posted it here) I came across this recently written guide about the installation under WinUAE:

http://www.amigaunix.com/tiki-index.php?page=WinUAE+Installation
Really easy to follow - thumbs up for the writer!

I followed the instructions there to the letter, but I still ended up with the same error: "cpio: Unexpected end-of-archive encountered" after "var/uucp/.Xqtdir" (two attempts, both time after the same file). Again, the installation is bootable (and seems to be working) after the error, but I would like to know what I am doing wrong (as there is no mention of the error message coming up in the instructions).

Sorry about whining about the error again, but I also wanted to share the link for everybody possibly interested in the Amix.
