AIAB and workbench adf
« on: November 15, 2006, 11:29:49 AM »
About 2 years ago I bought a CD from HMV called Amiga Emulator. On the back cover in really small writing it says Workbench 1.3 and Roms included under license. I can rind the Rom file but I can't find this WB3.1.adf. I thought I was paying for both of them, I can get the games to work but no workbench screen. I do own the original disks but I've only just started to get my Amiga 1200 out after years and years and I don't want the hassle of making an adf of Workbench. Does anyone know if the file is on the Cd under another name or something or if I can download WB3.1 from somewhere? :boohoo:

I've just read somewhere that I shouldn't be asking for this file, is that right?

Hello,

I'm afraid Kickstart and Workbench v1.3 are considerably less useful than the more recent v3.1 release.

I would recommend purchasing Amiga Forever in order to gain access to a fantastic Amiga resource, which will also allow you to use other Workbench distributions, including AIAB and AmiKit.

However, if you truly do already own a Kickstart v3.1 A1200, spend a few searching and you will quickly find the necessary files online.

Take care,
James

You could use EasyADF PCMCIA Transfer Kit to convert your Workbench 3.1 disk and other disks to an ADF and transport it over to the PC.   EasyADF will also convert back to the Amiga 1200's floppy disks as well.

It is very quick, easy to use and does not require a hard disk on your A1200.

If you need Amiga Forever 2006 we also stock that and the original AmigaOS 3.1 disks

Hope this helps!

Problem. I had AIAB working fine, then it wouldn't load up. I don't know why. So I've tried reinstalling winUAE and AIAB the latest versions but for some reason the welcome to AIAB! wouln't show up. I just get normal WB3.1 load instead. Can anyone tell me how to get AIAB to install properly again? :-o

Remove the WB3.1 floppy from the disk drive :-)

(Press F12, go to the floppies page and click on eject next to DF0)

Bye,
Thomas
