AIAB r10.5 released - celebrating WinUAE v1.0
« on: June 05, 2005, 05:30:08 PM »
Hello folks!

Well, to mark the release of WinUAE v1.0, I have updated the AIAB package.  As always, it requires a Kickstart 3.0/3.1 ROM a Workbench 3.0/3.1 ADF and a reasonably high-spec PC.

Give it a try, and tell me what you think - it's only a 4mb download, so what have you got to lose? ;)

Just installed it, and I have to say it's very very nice.

"Original and best"?  Probably!

Gonna stick my 1200's HD in my pc and copy the hardfile across. :-D

Well, give them both a try!  However, in my opinion they're intended for different audiences; AmigaSYS is clearly aimed at providing a complete Amiga solution (reflecting the large filesize and high requirements), whereas AIAB is more of a barebones setup for users to build upon themselves (again, reflected in the download size and minimal KS/WB 3.0 requirements).

If you are a registered MUI user, don't forget to copy your MUI.key over too.

Cheers,
James

Nice, I like this.. Could use a bit more info on what every installation option does (I suppose it's somewhere on the website..)

Good to be able to choose between 2 of these programs.

Hi James,

If I install my OS3.9 CD over the top of AIAB will it break?

Hello!

Most likely, yes.

I do not own 3.5/3.9 to test, however in all honest, you may find you do not need it initially - apart from the obvious hardware/Reaction support.

Cheers,
James

I'll do it piecemeal then methinks.

Blizkick
ATA3.driver
Setpatch & ROM update
MediatorUP
WarpOS
etc...

and see how I get on.

Goodness me - updating a real Amiga with the latest hardware is quite a complicated business!

James
