Bit of info on my Amiga Emu proj
« on: April 03, 2011, 06:45:21 PM »
Hey all,

I have a little bit of info to share on a project of mine for Amiga emulation.

I picked up this handy Compact Flash => IDE converter off of e-Bay for 7 or so dollars and 2 dollars shipping. They are all over e-Bay and I had an idea.

I found a minimal version of FreeDOS designed to boot from a Compact Flash card. I removed all non-essential programs and added Fellow for DOS, and Mouse.com. Fellow and the mouse driver loads at boot thanks to AUTOEXEC.BAT. Also, I've actually gotten this to fit on a old 4MB CF card, (Including when I added up the space my Kickstart 1.3, Workbench 1.3, and Extras 1.3 took which was a total of about 3 MB with FreeDOS.)

I'm putting up a website with this FreeDOS distro with Fellow for CF. Please, don't ask for Kickstart ROMS or program/game ADF's.... I won't give them to you, you have to supply your own of course.
