Sky UK ISP block
« on: September 01, 2011, 11:42:00 PM »
Is there any reason you need to maintain a block of this entire ISP?

Its not affecting me, but is affecting folks I know.

Thanks!

If they don't want him on the board so bad it seems IMO to make more sense to permaban him rather than block an entire ISP...

Blocking a potential 3million+ viewers for one person really doesn't make any sense. I hope this isn't the case.

I checked and no one at DFX did this. If any Amiga.org mod did this they should remove it ASAP. The site owner does not want extreme measures like this taken. Whoever did this please remove it now. This is not authorized.

Sky is one of the biggest ISP's in the UK, must be a lot of members and visitors can't access this website.

Even if that were true (it's the opposite of true,) screwing over a whole ISP with a lot of users just to get back at one person? Not cool.

You checked if there was a block in place or only if DFX admins blocked something?

"This site is a million times better without franko" I disagree & it would improve mightily if you got a sense of humour & stopped having such a downer on him.
Blocking a major ISP is the final straw. Obviously the mods here are incompetent, so please delete my registration here. I won't be back.

Let's keep the wild speculation to a minimum.

The issue is being investigated. I believe that there may have been a class C IP address ban put in effect some time before the hosting upgrade, though I am a little hazy on the specifics.

Your prerogative, but try not to hold the moderators responsible for what is likely to be a server configuration setting.

Until we have gotten to the bottom of this issue and have some updates either way, I'm locking this thread.
