Quake 2 questions
« on: December 07, 2002, 06:35:17 PM »
I do not have Quake 2 on the Amiga yet, I don't see why I should pay out the butt, when it is on PC for only $10, but I do have it on my XBOX, and was wondering a few things, that you guys might be able to help me out with.

First off, on this site there is a pic of a Star Wars TC:

http://www.knight-industries.de/q2/j_mods.htm

 Where can I get this!?!?!?!

Second, how do you guys get a MOD to work on an Amiga when it was coded to work under Winblows, isn't there like a game.dll that you need to be able to acess?

 Thankx for any help.
Earth has a lot of things other folks might want... like the whole planet. And maybe these folks would like a few changes made, like more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and room for their way of life. - William S. Burroughs

That's right, Quake used exclusively QuakeC for the 'mods', Quake II has binary files however. And AFAIK in Quake III either can be used although most mods use binary anyway. Something like that. But they mentioned that over 50 Quake II mods would be made available for Amiga... keep your eyes peeled.

Hi!

It is on a free Mod-CD which some dealers include when you bought Quake 2 for AmigaOS. If it was not included, you can request the CD at Hyperion Entertainment for
free, after you bought Quake 2 for AmigaOS. This CD contains around 40 different Mods.
15 more Mods (for which CD-Distribution was not allowed - not even for free - are
available on the Amiga Quake 2 Page for free download).

Sure. We needed to port these Mods like the full game because of this. On the Amiga this is called "gameppc.dll".
