Anyone else having issues with the site loading images.
-
No static site images are presently being served, instead you get a 403 response.

Karlos your prometheus rant broke the server lol.
In all seriousness its annoying because now I have to remember what the buttons are ;)
-
The images are all present and correct and no directory permissions have been altered. It would appear that the issue might be down to the same slightly overzealous resource monitor that was occasionally blocking access to the entire site previously.
-
Me too using Firefox. Strangely IE is working OK.

Perhaps because these images are stored in your HD and it is reading them locally with my IE on Windows 7 I have the same issue like the rest :P
Karlos why don't you sell one of your A1200 to people out there who needs such settings and are finding it hard to find in eBay and other places?
-
@Kesa
It depends on how recently IE cached the images. I believe the site sends headers to cache for 2 weeks typically.
I've contacted the admin because I suspect the problem is something that can't be fixed by playing with the site's local rewrite rules or directory permissions. None of them have changed anyway, so that would indicate that it's something in the apache configuration (which I've no access to) that's currently blocking images. It's not a problem with any of the images per se, I even added one to be absolutely sure.
One for the hosting provider to look at.

I'm working with the hosting company to get this resolved ASAP.
-
Setting got changed on hosting companies firewall by mistake and is causing this. They are working to resolve the issue.
-
Should be working now, please check.

Some of the images started to work, but many are still broken. Those are broken here too which are broken on koaftder's shot. As well as this new msg grapchis too http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/firstnew.gif

Yup, clearing the history/cache in Firefox cured the image problem.
But, when hitting "reply" to a forum posting, I at first get this screen (click to enlarge):

Releading the page corrects it.
-
Thanx for checking everyone, I'm talking to the hosting company again about this. Their firewall change is no fun for us.
-
Looks perfect using Firefox on OS X. Issue should be resolved now on the server side.
-
It's not. http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/firstnew.gif & http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/lastpost.gif are still missing.

That seems to be your browser failing at gzip for some reason. Which is weird because unless the browser advertises that it accepts gzip encoded data, the server shouldn't issue it.
-
It seems the broken images are in the wrong directory?
http://www.amiga.org/forums/web/buttons/firstnew.gif works and http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/firstnew.gif does not.
Notice the /forums/ in the first url.
Same for http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/firstnew.gif ,
http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/collapse_tcat.gif and
http://www.amiga.org/web/buttons/lastpost.gif
Adding /forums/ in there fixes the links.
http://www.amiga.org/forums/web/buttons/firstnew.gif ,
http://www.amiga.org/forums/web/buttons/collapse_tcat.gif and
http://www.amiga.org/forums/web/buttons/lastpost.gif
Or are those images in /forums/ smaller/different versions?
-
@Lizard
Actually, there were a subset of the images duplicated on that path used just by the root level pages as everything else ran from within /forums.
I don't know why they went missing, but I've quickly re-added the ones that are essential for now.
-
Good! The problem is gone!

How about I keep my machines for the development & compatibility testing they get used for?
Oh wait, that'd be all of them...

Only happens here, so must be something this site is issuing to the three different browsers I use :-) I should add this problem only started recently at the same time the image problem started.
-
Looks like the problem has gone now anyway :-)
