Well since you have a socket AM2 CPU you most likly have the 6xx chipset and then depending on motherboard manufacturer and model (printed in white text on the middelish part of the mobo PCB) you will guaranteed have support for 8GB but odds are you can have 16GBs of RAM (if you only plan to game 8GB will be enough in dual channel, 4x 2GB sticks)

Tell me what motherboard you have, cant you find it on the motherboard download and run CPU-Z and it will tell you under the motherboard tab :)

Hi again it is

Even better, congratulations you got a 770 chipset board, you can use 16GB ram and the best part is that you can use Phenom 2 CPUs!

The board do not have the best voltage regulators so I would stay away from overclocking past 4GHz, but if you feel like it you can boost the machine with a Phenom II x6 1090T in the future :)

You did a good deal, and you can without trouble expand the machine to be future proof :)

For a complete system that is a fair price indeed :)
I myself do not like LED fans and such, i prefeer low noise fans like FD and Noctuna and  cases with good space for water cooling and alot of space to work with but that's my taste :)

I am happy for you, hope it works great and you can decide what GFX card you want :)

That is not true as long as its the same gpu and memroy size it does not matter what brand it is just as long as its the same card. I ran 2 8800gt's in SLI one card was zotac and the other BFG and worked brilliantly.

Earlier models were more forgiving with it, as are pure reference designs.
Most people don't buy the simple reference design models unless they are extremely early adopters, though.  I have seen different brans work occasionally together, and does only really apply to 100% reference models, but it'd be foolish to tell this guy it WILL work.  I've got two old 9800's here of different brand type, as well as 2 285's of different manufacturer that I simply know do *not* work because they are different brands.  I've tried them, and they don't work in the least in SLI form together.

nVidia themseves say to only use the same manufacturer, so I'd rather not confuse people, heh.

Crossfire is a whole different animal altogether.

NO NO NO, take a look at komplett.dk, there you can buy 4x 2GB sticks for 800DK
http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=451110

Also 4x4GB DDR2 for 1600 DK
http://www.komplett.dk/k/ki.aspx?sku=346195

I do not know where you are looking for parts but you need to know the good stores :)
Komplett is a good store and is avaliable in Sweden, Norway and denmark :)

DDR2 is getting old so prices are going up.

Second hand market is a lot cheeper.

Shop around for the RAM. You will be amazed at the span of prices. Lots of times I will use newegg.com to catch a sale, but not always. Check more than few places. It will pay you to check around.
