Back in April RIM aquired QNX System Software which is an infotainment specialist. According to Bloomburg, 3 seperate sources have reported that RIM will run a software build by QNX on their tablet, the BlackPad. RIM appears to be learning from Apple’s issues with upscaling their OS for tablets and opting not to use Blackberry 6.

Although one of the sources suggests that its easier to roll out a fresh face rather then deal with legacy code. QNX cost RIM $200M so we hope that they have an innovative way to link the smartphone to the tablet and create an ecosystem of productivity. In case you missed it last month RIM acquired the Internet rights to blackpad.com, according to the Whois database of domain names. We can’t wait to see how things turn out in the tablet ecosystem for this Canadian company.

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.
