WTB: 50-pin SCSI HD
« on: August 09, 2019, 11:26:03 PM »
Anyone Stateside have an old 50-pin SCSI hard drive they'd be willing to part with? My 1GB Seagate just bit the dust. I'd like to get a 4gb+ drive if possible.

Can't use a 68-pin in this particular installation, so it's gotta be the older style.

Please PM if you have something for reasonable. Thanks!

I'm not stateside. bu i do have a few SCSI disks...
However... they are REALLY old and no warranties of how long they will survive.
I have from the top of my mind:
2X 1GB compaq - the third bit the dust a few years ago...
 a quantum of unknown size...
 a conner of unknown size
 a bigfoot i think it was 1.2Gig
and a few smaller disks.... only one over 4 gig. but i use that in my A1200 (only the first 4Gigs though)

Like others stated.. your best bet is to go SCSI-SD route....

You should consider sd2scsi style solution. There is a huge risk that you buy several old scsi drive and they get broke soon or in transport. I ended up to have 6 unworking old scsi drives.

YOu should buy sd2scsi v5 or v5.1. There is also v6 but it has had lots of problems with amigas, though some has got it work.

I am finding these SCSI drives pretty hard to come by. I have a dew 68 pin I am hording right now, as who knows how long they will last. Every now and again I see one at a second hand store.

Thanks for the SD2SCSI advice, but am just looking to throw something on to the 2091 card before I sell my A2000. May just end up parting everything out as that seems to make the most sense monetarily anymore when it comes to this stuff.

If you decide to part with your amiga, i am interested in the A2000 itself. Even just the motherboard. Or bare bone A2000 MB with housing.
I have most other parts to put inside it. unless you have an accelerator faster than fusion forty. (like blizzard 2060)

Actually have spare A1000, A2000 and A500's mobo's I'll get around to listing someday. Just not excited about sending this stuff overseas, unless it's by eBay's GSP. None of my packages have mysteriously "disappeared" or "weren't as advertised" going that route.   ;)

There are many of us Amiga fans in the USofA who would love to purchase your Amiga gear as well!!
Can you post stuff and say USofA delivery only?
