I can't believe there's not more chatter about this: even if you say "Oh, well, it's got a fixed amount of RAM and no SCSI controller" or whatever, it's a hundred bucks and that is phenomenal!  This is the first sane price on an Amiga accelerator card in...well, EVER.

Pity they'll be gone before I can get an Amiga together to put one one! :P

Ah well.  Enjoy, Amigans!

plus it presumably comes with some warranty rather than buying dodgy stuff on ebay that is "guaranteed to work!!! At least it did so 15 years ago, and it's been in my garage in a wet cardboard box since"

I agree!!!

One question I have tho is what is the benefit of that much RAM?
I realize, any FAST RAM is better than none.
But, as an Amiga 1200 user who IS going to get one (as long as I can talk my wife into ordering it for me.. ;-), what can I realistically use 64M RAM for??

My A1200 has an 8M RAM card now. That has made a big difference..

But, what apps/games/whatever is out there that might take advantage of that much more RAM??

Just wondering..  Even if you say "basically none," I'm still going to try to get one.. ;-)

Earth has a lot of things other folks might want... like the whole planet. And maybe these folks would like a few changes made, like more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and room for their way of life. - William S. Burroughs

Benefits are, Being able to load all of the disk images into ram for multi disk WHDload games, being able to edit large AIFF files (although 64Meg is not really enough ram for a full CD track), setting up your workbench on a RAD: for faster reboots, using the the extra mem for easier Gfx editing and lot's of other uses besides... :)

All of the above.  Plus it might have actually been easier to put a larger amount of RAM onboard than not.

(I know zero about electronics design, so I'll patiently await Jens coming in and bopping me for making such a silly statement ;) )
Back away from the EU-SSR!

I would think the cost of modern 64MB RAM would be insignificantly different to 32MB RAM. So I would think the answer would be "why not"?
Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 128MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1

And to think, there are two unpopulated locations that would bring the total to 128MB fast ram!

I did get one (YEAY), and I love it..
Not sure how much memory I've used tho....
I've been doing some web browsing, so I suppose that eats some memory.
I'll have to watch next time I'm browsing with it...

128M?  Crazy talk!!  :-)

Well, I think for most classic amiga purposes, 64 megs is pretty much infinite memory :)

But the ACA cards are pretty damn sweet.
