The Commodore Story movie at Computer History Museum 2/23/18
« on: February 02, 2018, 04:13:46 AM »
The Commodore Story - Release Date 23rd Feb 2018, 6:30 p.m., Computer History Museum, 1401 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, California 94043, USA.  Bil Herd and Leonard Tramiel to have a question-and-answer session after the movie.

The Commodore Story is a cram-packed, 2-hour documentary film that takes us through Commodore's evolution from the 70's to the 90's from the PET, Vic-20, C64 to the Amiga and beyond.

See the excerpt at: https://youtu.be/yz-ptLXtNbc

Also a cute animation they did of the Hole in the Wall story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YelPWHW55c&t=9s

Do you know if there event tickets/registration or is only a general museum admission required?

Does any one know when it will be released in the UK / Europe? I haven't seen or heard anything yet, I ordered mine back in Oct. 2017. Hope it's not vaporware ...

It looks like released has been delayed until May, this is due to awaiting further contributions to the project. So we will have to wait a bit longer....

As a backer of David Pleasance's book I got a link to a copy a few weeks ago.

It's nice, but also disappointing somewhat since it doesn't interview Shiraz Shivji (father of the C64) and does not venture to try and get the other side's story (Commodore management, i.e. Mehdi Ali).

Not sure if they've tried and got turned down (sent the director an email but didn't hear back).

Out of all the docus on Amiga, I'd say I'm most impressed by Bedrooms to Billions: The Amiga Years. Even though I backed Viva Amiga, it's not as good (don't get me started on the substandard 3D models - they should've seriously commissioned Thomas Koch for these).
