SC3 arcade party Sept. 27th! RSVP Today! (fwd)
« on: August 24, 2008, 08:06:20 AM »
Here is the announcement of the SC3 Arcade Party on September 27, 2008.  Not only are there plenty of video arcade machines and modern consoles to play, there will also be Commodore and Amiga systems set up with games (I'm bringing some Amiga games and my CD32).

Greetings gamers,

The next meeting of the Southern California Classic Collectors is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th!  As usual, the party will last from 6:00 p.m. until "sometime after midnight."  The location is the same: ... Claremont, [CA].

Your old favorites -- Rock Band, Guitar Hero, the row of classic '80s consoles, dozens of vintage coin-ops on free play -- will return. We're also planning to bring a few fresh attractions.  Sega consoles have gotten short shrift at prior meets, but not this time.  Samba de Amigo, anyone?  How about Gunstar Heroes, DonPachi, or Sonic?  Welcome to the next level.

This meeting will also feature the return of our arcade high-score contest.  As before, your $5 entrance fee goes into a cash pot. Throughout the evening, you shoot for the highest score on a series of classic coin-ops chosen by the SC3 organizers.  If you have the most first-place high scores at the end of the night, you win the pot! Everyone should enter; anyone can win!

As always, we need you to tell us you're coming.  If you plan to attend, let us know as soon as possible.  Please don't assume we already know!  We need an official RSVP so we can assemble an accurate headcount. We'll send out more reminders as the date approaches.

As before, there's no cover charge to attend... just bring a few bucks if you'd like to contribute to the food/beverage/electricity fund or enter the high-score contest.  We always encourage you to bring your classic gaming trade bait.

Our last meeting was a blast because of you, and we want ALL of you back!  We hope to hear from you soon!

See you September 27th!
