Alien Breed Projekt UPDATE
« on: June 03, 2013, 12:56:58 AM »
For those interested, I am still working on the Alien Breed Projekt, and yes, real life issues and the nice weather have been keeping me from it more than I would have liked, but well...

...you'll have that.

So you know, I am still planning on a release soonish. I had intended to have something official out by now, but didn't reach my dead line as planned. None the less I am still working on the project when I find the time, and still hope to have something pushed out the door before summer officially gets here, if not some time shortly after that.

I have decided to release the project in chapters ala Half-Life 2, mainly because I seem to have developed an odd habit which compells me to make the level I'm working on SUPER huge and SUPER detailed, which I guess isn't all bad, though it does seem to cause the XBOX to crash from time to time, and it does seem to be a bit to heavy for the poor Efika to run, but then again, most people are running on systems a lot more powerful than either of them now a days so no biggy. I'd rather not cut corners anyhow and just make this how I want to make it. Either way it should run on things like the Rasberry Pi on up, so we're still good.

Anyhow, that's about all I got to say right now, just didn't want anyone following this to think the projekt or I myself was dead. ;)

And he's managed to fit it and the entire game into 512MB on an unexpanded A500!  :D

Looking forward to trying this on my X1000.

That was a joke. This won't run on an A500, gonna need something with at least a 500Mhz CPU and 128Mb of RAM. Mainly because Odamex itself barely gets by on a 400Mhz CPU.
I think it is because of a few of the larger than life textures that you need a 500Mhz CPU, but who doesn't have something of those speeds or higher now a days anyhow? :)

That's not even the whole map either. :)
I intend to make my second one even larger. Since I am probably only going to release on a one map/chapter at a time basis, I figured I better make each map last.
Good thing you can save when ever you want hugh? :)

Good good, I hope you are even more lost when you experience it in first person on your X1000. ;)

Of course I don't want you to be too lost. I hate it when I play a game and get frustrated being stuck at one point for days on end, so you guys will have to let me know if I do that to ya. ;)
