Amiga.org Captcha drama
« on: April 18, 2024, 01:33:59 PM »
Hello,

I've just returned here after some years and found out I need capthas here and there on the forum. Not for a new topic upto now  8)

Can onyone of you actually read these on a 27" monitor ? I can't complain about the PQ of my LG 27" monitor at all.

Never did I have to download the 8kbit sampled speach of any captcha before (done on a C64 - which is cool BTW) and play it to solve the Captcha...

Thanks for looking into it, Arno

Not sure I follow, Captcha only on registration. It can be awkward to read, however stops stupid spam bots, etc etc.

On my 32" Monitor, I cant read anything. However for graphics and gaming, its pin sharp. Spose thats what I get for buying a cheap'ish OLED.

@FOLLETT

I've gotten the captcha each time I've used "search" while not logged in.

Perhaps that is what the poster is experiencing or similar.

I get the captcha with every PM.

I was trying to answer a PM this morning. Another unreadable captcha (see attached .gif)

Maybe amiga.org is responsive enough to be read using Aweb on a Commodore 1084S  :P

I actually replied to the man via Amibay. No need to opt for pronouncing captchas as I was blind.

Reduced intensity of Captcha, is that better.

Not sure why your being asked for it when sending PM. There is no option for this.

Don’t recall seeing it when using Safari. Could be a Browser thing?

Example of a Captcha when sending a PM.

It seems a bit more legable now, but to me its still unworkable. It's about 0.5cm x 4cm and half of the blue letters have a blue rectangle through it... Who can read that ?

I didn't try the audio version today my colleague will start laughing again when hearing the C64 output of SAM/RECITER doing an 8kHz sample of the Captcha  :D

To me a forum is unworkable with this type of captchas requiring 4 attempts to get it done.

Just sent you a test PM via my IPad on IOS 17.4.1 and safari. No captcha request…..

PM sent - nothing asking for captcha. Is there a minimum mails requirement?
