Best Arcade conversion to Amiga?
« on: April 04, 2008, 10:45:58 PM »
What would you say are some of the best Arcade conversion to Amiga? Looking back now I can't believe just how accurate some of the games were! Brilliant stuff.

Good ones I remember were Rainbow Islands and SWIV.

How about you? Which ones really gave you that 'Arcade at home' feel via your Amiga  8-)

I thought the port from the Nija turtles was ok. I like the Gianna sisters though I think it was a c64 conversion. There was a game that had ninjas that turned into robots, but i cant remember the title. I'll have to go through my 3000+ rotting DD disk collection :)

There really were some pixel perfect conversion! Amazing display of the Amiga in the late 80s and 90s running head to head with the Arcade.

SWIV? Or did I mean Silkworm? lol.

The New Zealand Story was a pretty seamless port too, if I remember rightly.

Great Giana Sisters was in the arcade??

Best conversion?

Arcadia games. =) Magic Johnson's Fast Break, Space Ranger, etc.

Since the arcade hardware WAS an Amiga with a cartridge port of sorts added, releasing the Amiga ports of these games was a cinch. =)

The New Zealand Story and Rainbow Islands for sure. Ocean made a variety of coin-op conversions, some of them are very good. Also I liked the first Mortal Kombat.
